Hello bloggy friends. Just wanted to post my entry for this week's Play Date Cafe Color Splash challenge. This week use black white and a splash of mustard yellow for your projects. I've used an old favorite to create my card. The stamp-a-ma-jig was used to carefully place the damask print onto a white card stock. For my splash of mustard I stamped the lower image in crushed curry ink from SU. My sentiment is from the stamp set "Friends 24-7", also from SU. I then added some half back pearls and gems to the centers of the damask and a satin ribbon and my card was done. I hope everyone is having a good week and thanks for stoping by:-)

Play Date Cafe Challenge 110
Well it's getting closer to Christmas! Anyone freaking out yet! I myself still have Christmas shopping to do, cards to send and somehow still need to have the kiddos pictures taken! Although now I think I'll have to postpone the pictures for now since my little ones are still getting over being sick:-(. I did have a chance to play in this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. Well just barely. I saw it was a four color combo and I just love the colors chosen for this week's color story. For my card I used a few different lines of products. I started out with a real red card base which I adhered some patterned papers from Echo Park called "Season's Greetings" to a navy mat. Then I used stamp sets from MFT Stamps called "Framed Greetings", and the sentiment stamp is from Tim Holtz. The "Framed Greetings" stamp set comes with a coordinating die which make it so easy to cut out the frame perfectly! A little tree is tucked behind my sentiment for a little more holiday spirit and my card was done! How about you, are you in the holiday spirit? This afternoon while stopping by the Starbucks a couple in front of us paid for our coffee's and told us to have a blessed day. With all the hustle and bustle, the grouchy sales people and long lines this was an act of kindness that was so unexpected we were overcome with the reminder of what Christmas truly means. So sending kind thought to my bloggy friends and wishing you a blessed day.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 108
Play Date Cafe's challenge this week is a rich array of colors of Maroon, Copper, and Tumeric. So many beautiful colors. Here's my card using the colors. I used a patterned paper from Webster's Pages, and a sentiment from Verve Stamps. I colored the flowers with Copic markers to give them more shading toward the color story. I really like the way they turned out, it's like the flowers are jumping off the paper. I hope everyone is having a good week. I went to the grocery store today, and it was PACKED! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for stoping by.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 105
Happy Halloween everyone! Trick or Treat? Today I decided to give myself a little treat by playing along with this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge. The color story this week is to use Kraft/Taupe, Flesh, and Cadet Blue. Using the current sketch from The Card Positioning Blog I started off my card with a base of Crumb Cake cardstock, and matted some flesh tone patterned paper to it. I then sewed around the edges and adhered some lace to the bottom. For my sentiment I used a stamp from a Clear Art Stamps set called, "Sweet Kids", which I stamped in some Crumb Cake ink and cut out using some Spellbinders. I then added a bow made from seam binding and adhered a button which I ran some bakers twine thru. I was fine up until this point. What I seemed to struggle with was balancing the card out. Do you ever see projects that have a lot going on, on one side while the other side is screaming for some attention? My card was really left side heavy so I tried to balance it out by adding a photo corner, then I tried a piece of chipboard, then a flourish, but finally ended up using some half backed pearls. That does it for this card. I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween. Thanks for stopping by.

A Sweet Hello
Here's my Play Date Cafe challenge entry. This week's colors are Rust, Storm, and Deep Sea. As usual the design team has some beautiful inspiration projects, which made me see how lovely these colors actually are together. I made a simple card for this challenge, or at least my idea of a clean and simple card. I started out with a base of Sahara Sand cardstock. I then added a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with some teal seam binding. I made a simple bow and adhered a paper flower to the center. The bling flourishes are from American Crafts and the leaves were punched from a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things stamped on to some Very Vanilla and punched with a SU word window punch. That's really all there is to this card. I have to say this is one of my favs! Thank you Play Date Cafe for such a beautiful color story this week! Hope everyone has a good week and thank you for stopping by:-)

Happy Holidays
Oh Play Date Cafe it's been too long. It's be quite a while since I've been able to play over at the Play Date Cafe, but I just had to join in this go round! How stunning are the color choices this week? I used some paper from Graphic 45 that I thought would go great with this challenge. I am not usually drawn to the colors of wine, smudge, leather, and parchment, but the design team did an amazing job, I was totally inspired! For my card I used the sketch from Random Acts of Creativity, Sketchbook Saturday challenge, but sadly I too forgot to use the felt suggestion on the sketch. I think it came out just fine though. I used some Soft Suede cardstock as my base and adhered three strips of patterned papers from Graphic 45. I ran a zig zag stitch around each strip and added postcard element, along with the sentiment, included in the Christmas Emporium paper pack. The stamped image is from Crafty secrets which I stamped on some naturals cardstock from SU and colored with some prisma colors. Another Christmas card down and I'm on a roll! Hope everyone has a great week and I'll be back tomorrow with a new Papercraft Star Challenge! Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful Day
Hello everyone, just trying to sneak a post before my little one wakes up from her nap. For this card I used the colors in this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge. For my colors I used Baja Breeze, So Saffron, and Night of Navy. I started out with the Baja Breeze cardstock and adhered some patterned paper from Bo Bunny. I used my ticket corner punch on the top corners. My sentiment is from a stamp set from MFT stamps, which came with the coordinating die! I first stamped the houndstooth frame from one set called Textile Rectangle Die & Stamp set and cut it out using the coordinating die. I then stamped the sentiment and frame from another stamp set and die combo called, Framed Greetings, which I popped up using pot dots. I added some half backed pearls under the sentiment, and a butterfly from Jenni Bowlin. The bow was made from some seam binding, which I added a vintage button to the center. Well that does it for this card, not too much but hopefully enough to inspire a Beautiful Day!
Thanks for stopping by,

Celebrate
Well hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good week. Here in my part of Texas it is SO HOT! I'm so looking forward to this Labor Day weekend. I'm ready to say "so long" to summer and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of cooler days. For this card I used the color story from the Play Date Cafe. I paired this soft color pallet of Mint, Coral and Ivory with a kraft neutral color. This image is from Clear Arts Stamps called Vintage Silhouettes. The printed paper is from My Minds Eye, and the Kraft cardstock base is from The Kraft Outlet. I used the Spellbinder's Lacey Circles die to cut out some vanilla cardstock on which I stamped my image. I used some twill to make my bow ,also from The Kraft Outlet, and adhered a flower cut with a sizzix die. I also used a Marvy punch for the tag which I punched out of the Kraft cardstock. I added three vintage buttons to the corner of my card and threaded them with some baker's twine. Now, I don't have an air compressor, so I don't stencil with my Copic markers. Instead I just colored using BG10 and BG000 around my image. For the hint of coral, I combined the colors Y11 and R00. Well that does it for this card. I know, that's a lot of punching and die cutting; but I love dies and punches because you can tailor the color or cut to whatever works best in your project. As always thank you so much for stopping by.

Life's Moments
Hello all. I just wanted to post this card for the Play Date Cafe color challenge 91. I had been seeing the previews of the new Crafty Secrets stamps and was itching to get some sets that caught my eye and sparked my imagination. Sadly though they were only released for purchase to wholesale vendors. Nevertheless I did purchase a stamp set that pulled at my heartstrings. This silhouette image is just darling! I can just hear this little boy screaming with laughter. I paired this image with a sentiment from a stamp set called Elements of Style by SU. Isn't it these little moments that we treasure most? Many thanks to you for stopping by.

Life Is Good
Oh my, two post in one day. I must have the FEVER! The FEVER to create...that or I still haven't learned to combine challenges. I know I should but I can't help it. I just get inspired by the design team members from each blog. That being said for this card I used the colors from the Play Date Cafe Challenge 89, which were Mint, Buttercream, and Taupe. I was ok with the mint and buttercream: however the taupe threw me for a loop. I'm not even sure I know what color Taupe is. It's so close to craft or maybe brown, or tan? Well I tried. Here's my little card. It really is little, it measures 4" x 4". Hope you have a good evening.
