The Kraft Journal Punch Challenge

It is Monday once again, can you believe it?  Today if the first day of school for both my little darlings.  What will I do with myself now that both kiddos are in school!  Join in on this week's Kraft Journal challenge of course!  This week's challenge is to use your punches in your project.  For my card I used my corner punches along with an edge punch.

Using a Lunch bag cardstock, I distressed the edges using Black Soot.  Next I took some Buff Ivory cardstock and stamped some music notes onto it.  Using patterned papers from Graphic 45 I matted my main image with some Blackboard Stock paper along with my sentiment which I punched out using the fancy word punch from SU.  To add a bit of detail to the patterned papers I used a ticket punch and a corner rounder punch.  I added a multi looped black baker's twine to which I adhered a vintage button to.  I'd love to see what you create using punches.  Please be sure to stop by the Kraft Outlet blog to see what our amazing design team has created to further to inspire you.  Have a great week and thank you for stopping by.

Color challenge

Monday has come and it's time for another challenge over at the  Kraft Journal.  This week we have a color challenge for you.

This color combo is so bright I had a true challenge on my hands.  With elements from the Kraft Outlet I was able to create this mixed media card.

Using a Buff Ivory cardstock as my base I matted some patterned paper from the Paper Studio.  I used a chevron stencil and some hot pink acrylic paint to add additional pattern onto the floral print.  Next I added some tea dyed gauze for some added texture.  Using elements from Thrift Shop ephemera pack I added a number card that I heavily distressed using some Tim Holtz seedless preservers ink.  A small sticker ticket from the Lost and Found sticker sheet.  Next I stamped this perfect sentiment onto some more of the Buff Ivory cardstock and distressed the edges with some hot pink ink.  To bring out the green I edged punched some green cardstock and added some green hemp cord from the Bright Hemp cord pack.  This card is not my usual style, but is was so fun to make!  I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week!

Dictionary Pages

Good Monday morning once again.  Over at the Kraft Journal this week's challenge is Dicitoanry pages!  When I think of dictionary pages I think of back to school!  I'm counting the days until the 1st day!  This year I'm on the PTA board at my children's school so it's a big deal!  I created this card for my son's teacher.

Starting with a Kraft Note card I matted some black cardstock along with some Vintage Dictionary pages from the Kraft Outlet.  Next I added some gingham patterned paper from Graphic 45's ABC Primer line.  Then I fussy cut some of the flash cards from more of the Graphic 45"s ABC Primer paper.  I added some black Hemp Cord and tied a small bow.  Next I added a ruler sticker from the Lost and Found Salvage sticker pack along with some ephemera from the Thrift Shop pack.  To personalize the card I hand wrote the "3rd" and "grade".  Wishing all the teachers and students a great school year.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to play in this week's challenge.  For more inspiration please stop The Kraft Journal to see what the design team has created!
