Mixed Media Challenge 10

Greetings everyone.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  This week the Papercraft Star design team gets to play along with the Mona Pendelton's Mixed Media Challenge #10.  This week's color pallet is so stunning it was so much fun to play along using MPD Timeless stamp set and coordinating dies from MFT stamps.

Have you ever shown your creative projects to friends and family and had them say wow "you must have a lot of time on your hands"?  Well I hear this a lot.  It's not that I have so much time on my hands between caring for my two young children running back and forth from dance to therapy to tutoring and swimming lessons.  However those couple of hours when the housework is all done and the kiddos are fast asleep in bed...well that's my time to be creative!

For this project I used bits of burlap, sprays, and masks, along with some embossing power.  For the base I used graph paper and layered different mists.  I just adhered more patterned papers in layers and started to tear some away exposing the different mists and paints.  I added the title "Art the great escape" and outlined with a sketch pen.

The "Timeless" stamp set and coordinating dies went perfect with my art journal page.  I die cut the gears with some chocolate chip card stock.  I added some flowers and half backed pearls and stamped "Time to Be Creative" to finish of my page.

I hope you get a chance to play along and find your very own time to be creative.  Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Anitra

  4. I am sending you a little "grr" to say under your breath when anyone comments on how much time you must have. Sometimes you must carve that out so carefully to continue on your art journey. That time is vital to your heart. Another wonderful project from you Anitra - so so pretty !!! ♥♥♥ J

  6. Gorgeous!!!! This is such a fun journal page. Art is a great escape, one I run into as often as possible which means my house isn't as clean as it should be with all the running kids to places but I think some days it's more important!!! I love what your time and creativity produced on this. So many fun elements to look at!
