Hello everyone! It's that time again! Challenge 64 opens today over at the
Papercraft Star. This weeks challenge is Lace. For my project I made my first block for my "Art Quilt". I first read about this idea from Melissa Phillips of
Lillybean's Paperie. She started hers this past summer and I was amazed with the first three blocks. For my block I used images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. I printed out one of the images from "
Text Writing Backgrounds 141" onto a fabric sheet. I used a June Taylor brand. Just loaded it into my printer like paper and the images was printed directly onto the fabric side of the sheet. I also printed out a page of the "
Victorian Women 170" onto a fabric sheet and used it as an embellishment on my block. Of course I used some vintage lace along the side and matted one of the Victorian images onto a piece of felt cut with a Spellbinders die. The flower was made from a piece of the fabric sheet and adhered in the center of a seam binding bow. Using fabric glue I adhered a lace applique and a half ticket. This was a fun challenge and I hope you'll play along for a chance to win some of these great images from The House Across The Bay! Just link up before Monday 6 a.m. EST. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing your projects!

What a fun idea! Your art block is lovely Anitra. I love the idea of printing the images on fabric and your addition of paper by adding the ticket with the vintage buttons. Of course the lace is beautiful as well, great project!
ReplyDeleteStunning. Just plain wow. Super idea, and thank you so much for sharing it with all of us !!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure exactly how you were using the digis on the fabric, but this turned out great Anitra! What a fun new way to use those images. Awesome project!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful! I have just fallen in love with this amazing lace! I like very much your works - they have so many details and are so precise.
ReplyDeleteLove this little art block idea too. My daughter and I are also collecting our fabric pieces to start one of our own soon. But we are thinking it will be for our camping trailer since we spend so much time outdoors. Love the idea of printing the images directly onto the fabric. Oh the ideas and creativity are endless with this idea. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI am so amazed by you having printed this on fabric! Wow! It is so fantastic! I love all the lace!
ReplyDeleteKindest regards,
Jennifer
