Flip card

Monday once again and we have a very interesting challenge for you at the Kraft Journal.  This week our challenge is "inside out".  For my card I created a "flip card" using a tutorial I found here.

I started with a "Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock"  as my base.  This card stock works great with the pattern papers from October Afternoon's Sasparilla collection, which I matted onto the card stitching around each different patterned paper.  Following the tutorial I created the "flip" element with a SU labels die.  I matted a smaller label die cut from "Buff Ivory Cardstock", and added a sticker from the October Afternoon Sasparilla sticker sheet.   Next I added the star stickers from "Black Apothecary Sticker" sheet.  To add a bit of detail I distressed the ivory label using some broken china ink for Ranger.

On the flip side I added a navy die cut cardstock, and matted some more of the "Buff Ivory" cardstock and stamped my sentiment.  The die cowboy die cut is from the October Afternoon embellishment pack from the same collection and the buttons were added and tied using some "Baby Blue Baker's Twine".  I hope you play along in this week's challenge.  Please stop the Kraft Journal blog to see what our amazing designers have to inspire you.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful week.

Easter Greetings

It's Monday once again and we have fun color challenge over at the Kraft Journal!  These colors just scream "SPRING"!  After some very unusual weather I think many are ready to put away the heavy jackets and get into the garden or even better a fun spring outfit!

For my card I used an adorable little digital image from Iralamija, an Etsy shop.

Starting with a "Lunch Bag Kraft Note Card" I matted a border cut with a decorative edge punch from some "Vintage Dictionary Pages".  The paper was perfectly distressed so I was able to just use it right out of the package.  To bring out the detail of the edge punch I matted the border with some "Blackboard Stock Paper".  I then added some "Hand Stained Bias Tape in Mint Green Tea".  Using some "Pink Baker's Twine"  I tied a multi-looped bow and adhered it to the seam binding.  The blue patterned paper was added to bring out the blue in the image.  To frame up the image I matted more of the "Blackboard Stock Paper" behind the digital image.  I then tucked some of the "Music Washi Tape", which I edge punched, under the image.  I just couldn't help adding the butterfly from the "Salvage Stickers-Crowded Attic" sticker pack.  A bling flourish was adhered onto the digital image to finish off my card.  I hope you have a chance to play along this week.  My mom was here for a visit and she joined in the fun by creating this fun little card using many of the supplies from the Kraft Outlet!  I'd love to see what you create and for more inspiration please stop by the Kraft Journal to see what our other wonderful design team has created.

Prim Tags

Good Monday morning and happy St. Patrick's Day!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  The kids are back in school this morning and this mamma is enjoying a little peace and quiet.  With Spring Break filled with a trip to the roller rink (yes apparently they still do exist), camping, swimming and a birthday party it was a full week of fun!  Over at the Kraft Journal this week's challenge is all about tags!  For my project this week I was inspired by the "primitive" style.  The Kraft Outlet offers an instant download called "Between Prim Friends Vol. 1", as well as "Between Prim Friends Vol. 2".  These Graphic are so adorable I just had to make some simple tags.

I simply chose my favorite images form the graphics and printed them directly onto some "Large Kraft Shipping Tags".  I then threaded some "Earthy Hemp Cord" through the tags and tied a knot.  The digital download offers so many templates and backgrounds I just couldn't stop at tags, so I created this very prim "Thank You" card.

I started out with a "Blackboard Stock Paper" card base and matted a template from the "Between Prim Friends Vol. 1", which I printed out with my printer onto some "Lunch Bag Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock".  I then added the black "THANK" thickets and "you" stickers from the "Salvage Stickers".  I then tied some "Earthy Hemp Cord" around the card and attached a rusty bell and a star tag I created using the "Between Prim Friends Vol. 2".  This has to be one of my favorite challenges so far.  I love trying new styles.  Although I'm not ready to give up my super favorite "Shabby Chic" and "Vintage" styles I am so glad to have these adorable graphics in my library.  I hope you give this week's challenge a try and for further inspiration please stop by the Kraft Journal blog and see what the other amazing design team members have created!  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week!

It's a Green Thing!

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying their day.  This week my little ones are off from school for Spring Break!  I'll be taking suggestions on how to keep them occupied all week long.  So far we have camping planed and a trip to Sea World.
To get your week going we have a great challenge for you at the Kraft Journal.  This week's challenge is "Green".  I would love to see how green inspires you.  For my project I created this little card.

I started with a "Brown Kraft Note Card" and adhered patterned paper from October Afternoon's "Thrift Shop" and "Sidewalks" paper lines.  I stitched around the card with some cream thread in a zig zag stitch.  I then cut and matted some more of the patterned paper and used an image from October Afternoon's "Farm Girl" patterned paper, which I matted with some "Blackboard Stock Paper".  Once I had my images down I tucked some of the ruler sticker from the "Black Apothecary Sticker" sheet behind the image.  I tied a "Vintage Winter White" seam binding bow, and adhered a "Chipboard Button" along with some green buttons from October Afternoon, which I threaded with some black "Earthy Hemp Cord".   I love how this card turned out.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with and for more inspiration please stop by the Kraft Journal blog and see what our fabulous design team has created!  Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your week!

Bird Notepad

Hello, hello, hello!  I hope everyone is having a good day!  Over at the Kraft Journal we have another  fun challenge.  This week's challenge theme is birds!  For my project I created a fun little note pad!

Starting with some small chipboard I purchased from the Kraft Outlet I cut some Light Kraft Text Weight Paper to size of chipboard.  I adhered the chipboard and text paper together with the Padding Compound.  I then adhered my cover using papers from Recollection with some Music Note Washi Tape.  The beautiful bird tag is matted on some Lunch Bag Kraft Cover weight Cardstock.   I made a small banner using the same Lunch Bag card stock and matted with some more of the Recollection paper.  I tucked an Office chipboard button behind the tag.  Because I can help myself I tied some Auqa Mist Seam Binding to the top.

For the inside I stamped different stamps to the bottom corner.  These little pads were so fun and simple to make.  Who doesn't need a note pad handy?  I hope you give this challenge a try.  I'd love to see what you come up with.  Thank you so much of stopping by and be sure to check out The Kraft Journal blog for more inspiration by our talented design team.
