Hello everyone! Yes I know, a post on a Monday? I just couldn't pass up playing along in the newest challenge from
Mona Pendleton and
Sue Lelli! This is a
Mixed Media Color Challenge and for all you CR84FN crafters, this color challenge is just the thing to get you reunited with these two fabulous ladies! The photo reminds me of the CR84FN colors. Now I have never really done mixed media projects but trust me it's not as scary as you think. I just took out some of my card crafting supplies and had fun.
I started with some patterned paper from Teresa Collins "Posh" paper line. Using Tattered Angles Chalkboard mist and a Maya Rd stencil I added a flourish pattern as a background. Then to bring out the misted pattern I used a black sharpie and faux stitched around the pattern.
I added some letters from the Girl's Paperie along with some corrugated paper which I painted using gesso. On the corrugated piece I made a banner again from the Teresa Collins "Posh" line and added some American Craft letters. To bring out the "Finding", I traced around the letters using a black sharpie. Just because I wanted to try to Mod Podge tissue paper I adhered some black polka dot tissue then gave it a light gesso wash and stamped using a dress form stamp from The Girl's Paperie. I found some stitching and loopy rub ons from SU, that I added to the side of the stamped dress form.
For the next page I added a bit of the corrugated paper on top of some gray striped washi tape. The letters are from Recollections and the arrows are covered with the Teresa Collins paper. I adhered a piece of paper doily which I stamped a clock from The Girl's Paperie stamp set. Because I thought some of the pink was a little too bright I gave it a gesso wash to dull it down.
To finish my art journal page up I added a piece of lace and a little tab from Echo Park's Summer Time paper line. Another arrow points to the sentiment which was covered in some retired SU patterned paper and faux stitched.
This was a fun project and I'm looking forward to seeing more challenges. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Anitra
