Halloween

Wednesday is here and Halloween has come!  First I want to let my readers know my thoughts and prayers are with all effected by hurricane Sandy.  Other than loss of power my family members in Virginia are well.  We even welcomed my baby nephew right in the mist of the storm.  Mom and baby are doing well and should be going home soon.   Today is the opening of our weekly challenge over at the Papercraft Star.  This week's challenge is to use a hot drink in your project.  Any tea drinkers out there?  Or how about some coffee, or hot chocolate!  I found this adorable image online and just had to use it on a card.  I started with a close to cocoa cardstock and added some patterned paper from SU (retired).  Next I added some vintage lace and a poinsettia I misted with some soft pink.  The image was resized in my photoshop and matted it in Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The sentiment is from SU and a little distress ink finishes my card.  Now it's your turn.  What will you have to show us this week?  Who will be our next Papercraft Star?  It could be you!  I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.  Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween's Around the Corner!

Hello Wednesday!  Lots to do today so let's get started!  This week's challenge over at Papercraft Star is  to create a project with the theme of Halloween pumpkin.  For my card today I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration along with our wonderful photo.  Using craft papers from My Minds Eye I followed the sketch and just added different patterned papers according to the sketch.  The image is also from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween stamp set.  The sentiment was cut from the same craft word paper from the Halloween craft collection.  Using the curly label punch from Stampin Up I punched out the word "Beware" and matted it on some black cardstock.   I punched out some bats using a Martha Stewart punch and adhered them around the card.  This card with some help from from the sketch came together in no time.  I look forward to seeing what you create this week.  For more inspiration check out the other Design Team members creations.  Thank you for stopping by and have a great week.

Fall Colors

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Here with another challenge for the Papercraft Star.  There are changes going on at the Papercraft Star which you can read about here.  Although there are some changes starting today our challenge is still in full swing.  This week we challenge you to use fall colors in your projects.  Since I've been volunteering at my son's school for their annual Fall Fest, I thought this would be a perfect time to bust out some fall inspired thank you cards for all the wonderful sponsors we had.  This card started out with a shimmery base.  I then matted some fall papers from SU (retired).  I then matted a piece of scrap paper with some Early Espresso and added a leaf cut with using "Wild Card" Cricut cartridge.  I stamped a frame  stamp from Taylored Expression with some Studio G pigment ink and cut it with the coordinating die.  The sentiment was stamped in Early Expresso, and a simple seam binding bow.  Now it is your turn.  What will you make using "fall colors"?  I look forward to seeing everyone's creativity.

Anything Goes

Easy challenge this week over at the Papercraft Star.  That's right it's "Anything Goes"!  Our featured designer Ros has used several images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay in her project.  Be sure to check her out over at her Mickysmom blog, as well as our other fabulous designers.  For my project I used scraps laying on my craft space to put this Halloween card together.  Using papers from Authentique and some stickers from Basic Grey this card came together so quickly.

For fun I tucked in a ticket I made using a stamp set from My Minds Eye Halloween Lost and Found.

These are some postcards I made for a swap I was in over at Your Paper Pantry  These are where the scraps came from.  Patterned papers are from Authentique.  The bingo images flip open so pictures or journaling can be added.

Ok are your creative juices flowing?  Let me see your anything goes!  Just link up your project to the Papercraft Star blog by Monday 6:00 am EST for your chance to win prizes from our sponsor The House Across The Bay.
