Wednesday once again. Than mean another challenge over at the Papercraft Star. This week we challenge you to create a project that includes a star. Easy right? This week is a special week also as we give a warm welcome to our newest member of out design team. Deanne is better known as "Three Trees". Please stop by her blog Three Trees and help welcome her. For my project I used patterned papers from Authentique to create a file pocket. The sentiment was taken from the Autintique sticker sheet popped up with pop dots. I created the rosette using a Tim Holtz die and adhered a scull cameo from Jolee. The stars were cut using a Taylored Expressions die. That does it for this project. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Our featured designer this week is Steph and she has a real beautiful card using images from our sponsor The House Across the Bay. Enjoy the rest of your week and thank you for stopping by.

Simply made.
Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your week. I have to say this week has started out a little bumpy for me but I'm determined to stay positive! To help you get through this week The Papercraft Star has a challenge for you to spark your creativity. This week's challenge is to use a birdcage in your project. For my card I used patterned paper from Prima. This card just came together all on it's own. I just loved the patterned paper so much I didn't want to cover it up. I simple cut a strip of coordinating paper and matted it with some Early Espresso and stamped my sentiment. To highlight the birdcage, I used a glimmer glass piece from Tattered Angles. I tried to add bits of lace, flowers and buttons, but none of those things added to the card, they just cluttered it up. So I stopped after adding the pearls to the glimmer glass piece. I hope you get a chance to play along. Just enter your projects by 6:00 a.m. EST on Monday for your chance to win some digital images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. See how Jan has used these fabulous images over at Chai tea ' n me. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week.

Something girly
Hello my blog friends! Here with another challenge for the Papercraft Star! This week our challenge theme is to create something girly! What a fun theme! I knew I wanted to alter a a piece I found at a thrift store in my area. I first prepped this set of mini drawers with gesso paint. Once it was painted with gesso I then sprayed painted it with heirloom white paint. Next using images from The House Across The Bay I covered them with images from sheets 233, and 043
Before
Starting with the drawer fronts I opened and image from the Pink Me sheet 233 and sized it to fit the fronts perfectly, and printed it on printer paper. Using Mod Podge I adhered the image. The pulls are buttons that I adhered using E600 for a secure hold.
On the side of the drawers I adhered another image from the Pink Me 233 sheet that was sized in Photo Shop to fit the side. I then added an image from the Jane Austen Fashion Show 043 sheet which I fussy cut and adhered to on top of the Pink Me image. I just love how she looks in that dainty dress! Now talk about girly!!!
On the opposite side I adhered the same background to the side but this time I choose another image from the Jane Austen Fashion Show 043, which I fussy cut. The entire sheet is filled with these gorgeous vintage images!
The top is adorned with a hand made pink satin flower which I added a vintage button to the center. Some lace and a felt flower were also added along with some pearls and buttons.
This little project is by far my favorite! I hope you give this challenge a try! I'd love to see what you come up with! Just link your project to our Papercraft Star blog by Monday 6:00 a.m EST for your chance to win some of these amazing images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. Be sure to check out what our designers have for you. The inspiration is amazing on each of your DT's blogs!

Papercraft Star Challenge 109
Here today with the Papercraft Star Challenge 109. This week's challenge is a "summer vacation" theme. This summer we took the kiddies to the beach for a few days to spend time with their cousins. They had a wonderful time and we all enjoyed ourselves. For my card today I used an image I cut from a Graphic 45 sheet. Although I did not look nearly as fabulous lounged on the beach I did have "fun in the sun" watching my little ones play. For the color scheme I took inspiration from the image. Using a Cherry Cobbler card stock as my base I matted a piece of patterned paper which I stitched around. I then tucked the edge of a spellbinders die behind the image. I fussy cut some flowers from the coordinating paper in the same This and That line and added some seam binding and bakers twine for my bow. The sentiment was stamped in baroque burgundy (SU retired). That does it for my card! I'd love to see your vacation inspired project! For more inspiration be sure to check out our spotlight designer Sylvia who is always inspiring, along with our other fabulous members of our design team! For your chance to win some wonderful images from our sponsor The House Across the Bay just link up your project by Monday 6:00am EST on the Papercraft Star blog. I hope you all have a wonderful week and get a chance to play along!

Include a fruit challenge
It's that time again! Today's challenge over at the Papercraft Star is to include a fruit in your project. We have a great photo to inspire you. I had seen this photo some time ago and created this project for a swap I was in a while back. Using an image from our sponsor The House Across The Bay I created a pocket to hold a number of gardening inspired tags. I started out cutting down some manilla folders to form a pocket. You can find a tutorial for the pocket here at Iley's "A blend of life blog". I then decorated it with patterned papers some lace and of course this wonderful image from THATB sheet Garden digital 117. Some tiny lady bugs are trying to sneak a bite of those beautiful strawberries and those are from Jolee"s boutique embellishments. I love how this little pocket for you thoughts turned out. I hope you get a chance to play along in this challenge. For you chance to win some digital images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay just link up your project by Monday 6:00 am EST. Our design team has come up with some really beautiful projects. Stop by and check them out along with our spotlight designer Steph for more inspiration. Thank you for stopping by.

Maps
Good Wednesday morning! This week we have a fun challenge for you over at the Papercraft Star! I have been seeing maps used in everything from scrapbook paper to home decor. For my project this week I really had some fun using the Maps Collage 059 sheet from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. For my First project I used a tag from Ranger and ran it right through my printer. I really love how the map was printed on the entire tag. This image from the 059 sheet had so many lovely colors. I simply added some lace along the side and a rosette made from a Tim Holtz rosette die and some patterned paper. I added a trio of vintage buttons from my stash along with a sentiment that I thought was perfect to use in this challenge from Verve.
For my next project I created a simple card musing the Mojo Monday sketch 251. I matted some patterned paper on some Early Expresso card stock along with a piece from the digital image maps 059. The sentiment was stamped on very vanilla cardstock and distressed using tea dye. Some seam binding from Paper Loves Glue etsy shop tied in a little bow finishes my card. Simple and the map coordinates perfectly with this London Market paper line!
My last project is using water slid paper. I have wanted to do this for such a long time now. I love the look of water slides on painted furniture and bottles. I am also a big fan of the Polka Dot Closet blog where I got the inspiration for this project. I started out with a tray I had purchased from a Hancock Fabric store many years ago that happened to be closing. I painted it using heirloom white paint. I then followed the directions for printing on the water slide paper. Next I coated the image using glossy clear paint form Krylon. I put 2 coats of this finish waiting the recomended 10 mins between each coat. Once the finish was totally dry I soaked it in some water which released the mage allowing me to place it on my painted tray. I have to say this is AWESOME! I so love this look and am anxious to try alother project using water slide paper. Let's see what fabulous projects you create! Just enter your projects by Monday 6:00 am EST, for your chance to win some digital images from our sponsor. Don't stop here though be sure to check out what the other design team ladies have created!

Papercraft Star "Water" Challenge
Happy Wednesday! Are you ready for another challenge over at the Papercraft Star? This week's challenge is to use water (ocean, lake, river...) in your project for you chance to win some fabulous images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. As usual the photo is always avalible to use as inspiration. For my card I used another darling image from Mo's digital pencil. This little guy just melts my heart because he reminds me so much of my little guy. He's all legs and arms too! I started this card with a bordering blue card stock base from SU, matted with some striped paper from Webster's Pages. I cut coordinating scraps from the paper collection and matted it with some red card stock from Taylored Expressions. The sentiment was printed directly onto the patterned paper and the inside says "one hot summer day at a time". Because I just can't put a limit on embellishments I had to add some small brads along with a strip of red card stock punched with an EK success punch tucked behind the image. I had fun coloring with my Copics and will send this one to Grandma. She always loves to get cards from the grandkids. She loves it even more when I add snap shots of my little monsters too. I guess I'll be heading to the photo counter! Now it's your turn! Just link up your water inspired project by Monday 6:00 am Est for you chance to win digital images from The House Across The Bay. I scream You scream We all scream for...
That's right everyone! It's an ice cream challenge over at the Papercraft Star this week. As usual the photo is here to use as inspiration if you chose. For my card I started out using soft suede cardesotck as my base and matted papers from the This and That collection. Then I used a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil, called Lacy and colored her with Copic markers. I have to admit I went a little over board with the rub ons. I even put a little bird rub on under Lacy's foot but it smeared on me. I say when rub on's go rouge, just stick a flower on it! A bow finishes my card and this challenge is done! I'm really trying to work with my Copic markers more often, and I have to say I'm getting to love them! I hope you play along in this challenge for your chance to win some digital images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. Our spotlight designer Jinny has made made a gorgeous card using the images from THATB be sure to stop by and check it out along with the other DT members:-) Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting.

Are you ready for another challenge from the Papercraft Star? With summer in full bloom our challenge this week is to create a project which includes a sun. Easy right? Our talented design team have created some real beauties today, including our newest member Steph! Steph has created a super fun card which you can check out on her blog "Where did all my money go". Our spotlight designer Sylvia has also done a wonderful job using images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay, and is one you'll want to see. For my card I chose an image from THATB digital sheet 192. I framed it using a tag from Graphic 45's Romantique collection. The base is buttercream cardstock from Taylored Expressions which I matted some gingham paper from October Afternoon. The sun was stamped on shabby polka dots 182 digital sheet from our sponsor with a Verve stamp and fussy cut. I then popped it up and added a Jenni Bowlin butterfly in the opposing corner. That does it for my card, now it's your turn to let your sun shine! Just link up your project by Monday 6:00 a.m. EST for you chance to win some digital images from The House Across The Bay. Papercraft Star Anniversary Day 4
Hello everyone! Are you ready for one more challenge?! I hope you still have some pep in your step! My challenge today is to get your party on vintage/shabby style! For your chance to win a fabulous digital sheet from our sponsor The House Across The Bay just create a party project using a vintage/shabby style. To get your creativity going you can use the photo inspiration from "The Pokadot Closet" if you choose. So let's keep this party going and I look forward to seeing your projects!
For this card I used digital sheet 182 from THATB. I started with a Choice White cardstock as my base I then adhered layers of some beautiful shabby pink lace from my ever growing collection. I then resized the digital image in Photoshop to fit my card perfectly and printed it off on some more of the white cardstock. Next I stamped the frame using an image from Verve and die cut it using the coordinating die. For the sentiment I used another stamps set from Verve called "Party Time", which was also cut out with an coordinating die and popped up. A little distress ink around the images to give it a more shabby look and some seam binding paired with a vintage button finishes my card.
Now for the details: To enter my challenge, just link up your projects to the Papercraft Star Saturday's post for your chance to win a digital sheet from our sponsor THATB. Papercraft Star Anniversary Day 3
Welcome to day 3 of Papercraft Star's Anniversary! Today's challenge is from the very talented Jinny! Her challenge is to create a card without using patterned paper. Now this was a challenge for me since I love my patterned papers. For my card I used a sketch from this week's CPS challenge. I started out with some lunch bag cardstock from The Kraft Outlet. I matted some soft sky cardstock that I embossed with a swiss dot folder. I then added some blush blossom on the side along with some lace from my stash. Instead of an image I used a crown which I made using Spellbinder's nested crowns. I then distressed the edges of the crown with some antique linen. For my sentiment I cut out a banner by hand and stamped "thanks so much" in basic black. To give the banner a little shine I added some silver stickles along the edge. There you have it, a card with NO patterned papers! It was a tough one for me but I bet you can tackle this one with flying colors. Just link it up to this post over at The Papercraft Star and Jinny will choose one entry to win a prize from our sponsor The House Across The Bay, along with her own giveaway! So be sure to stop by her blog to check out all the details!

Papercraft Star Anniversary Day 2
Welcome back to day 2 of The Papercraft Star Anniversary week! Today's challenge is hosted by our very talented Sylvia! Her challenge is to create a card using a "cold summer drink". There's an awesome picture to use as inspiration if you choose, over on the Papercraft Star blog as well as Sylvia's blog. No worries coffee drinkers, Sylvia has a inspirational card for you too. For my card I was totally inspired by this photo. It's been super hot over here in Texas with temperatures over 100 degrees. There's nothing like a tall glass of ice cold lemonade during these HOT I'M MELTING summer days! For my base I used Choice White cardstock from Taylored Expressions and matted some patterned paper from My Minds Eye. Following the Mojo Monday sketch for this week I matted more of the patterned paper to Yo Yo Yellow cardstock from SU along with some Sky Blue, also from SU (retired). The circle was cut using Spellbinders dies and the sentiment is from a stamp set by Taylored Expressions called Chillax. And just for fun I used my brand new pin-wheel die from Taylored Expressions and added some yellow buttons to the bottom. Well I hope you find time to join in on the fun this week. There are prizes to be won from our sponsor The House Across The Bay at each challenge. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Jinny's challenge. I hope you are having a wonderful "cool" day!

Anniversary Week over at The Papercraft Star
Happy Anniversary Papercraft Star! If you haven't heard already, this week is our Anniversary week over at the Papercraft Star. We have challenges going on with prizes to be won at each challenge! Today's challenge is "embossing" hosted by Jan! Now I don't emboss too often so this challenge is a perfect way to shake that rust off my embossing skills. For my card I matted some patterned paper from Prima onto some riding hood red cardstock. Then using an image from our sponsor The House Across the Bay from digital sheet 117 I matted the image on some Chocolate Chip cardstock. For my embossed piece I used some more of the Riding hood red cardstock and ran it through using a Sizzix embossing folder. My sentiment was cut out using a spellbinder's die and stamped with a sentiment from Verve. A simple bow completes my card. Now I was tempted to stitch around my card, but decided against it. I thought the print was a bit on the busy side and also because my sewing machine weighs a ton! LoL! Well, I hope you find time to come play along! Stay tuned each day to see the new challenges, and for all the details on the prize give aways and postings can be found here.

This week Jan is our featured designer and she has a lovely project to share with you this week. For my card I used various white embellishments along with some embossing. I stamped the frame along with the sentiment with "Love Story" stamp set from Verve in tuxedo black. I fussy cut around the frame and added half back pearls. The doves are from a Jolee sticker sheet and the silk ribbon rose are from Anna Griffin. Some silver flowers were added to break up some of the white clusters and a bit of lace is tucked in with the flowers. This one was an easy one. Father's Day Challenge
Wednesday June 13th 2012! Exciting day today not only because we have an awesome challenge over at The Papercraft Star, but also because it's my little Ava's birthday today! I'm so excited to have her enjoy her birthday. We've been putting together one of those Hobby Lobby doll houses, and let me tell you it's not a done in a day project! I hope she likes it...fingers crossed. On to the challenge! For my project I created a mini album for my own Dad. My parents didn't stay married and I never realized that my Dad doesn't have any pictures of us kids when we were little, which is something I never thought of. So. I thought he might like this album filled with pictures of days gone by. I used papers from Simple Stories paper line called Documented. I also used images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay from digital sheets, Victorian Ads, and Blank Backgrounds. These images made perfect journal spots which coordinate perfectly with this paper line. By creating tags and pockets for this album I was able to add lots of fun photos and journaling. I kept it in the neutral tones which made it easy to add a few flowers here and there without making it too feminine. I love how it turned out! Give this challenge a try. I'd love to see what you come up with! Just enter your projects by Monday 6:00 s.m EST for your chance to win some fabulous images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay. I hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.

Hello everyone! I hope the week is going well for you all. Ready for another challenge over at the Papercraft Star? This week's challenge is to use a butterfly in your project. I followed the instructions and matted some patterned papers from Echo Park in each segment. The sentiment is from Verve which was die cut using a Spellbinders die. For the embellishments I used some paper flowers along with some seam binding. The butterflies were punched using a Martha Stewart punch and other coordinating papers also from Echo Park. Now it's your turn show us your projects using butterflies. Just link up by Monday 6:00 am EST for your chance to win some beautiful images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay!
