Oh yea it's Friday! If that's not enough to put you in a good mood, well let me help you out my crafty friends! This week's free image over at the
Papercraft Star is a stunner! Oh and did you catch the word FREE! Every Tuesday there is a digital image offered to Papercraft Star readers courtesy of our sponsor
The House Across The Bay. For this card I started out with a sketch from
Hanna and Friends challenge 140. For my base I used butter cream card stock purchased from Taylored Expressions, and matted it with some patterned paper from Graphic 45, that I sewed using a zig-zag stitch. The edges of all the patterned paper were distressed with Tim Holts distress ink pads. My green accent sheet was embossed using a Sizzix folder and adhered down. The pink patterned paper was also stitched however: for this one, I used a straight stitch around the edges. Now here's the best part the frame is the free image. I simply downloaded it the image and opened in my photo shop to re size it to better suite my card and printed it out. Easy as can be. I colored the florals in the frame using Copic markers, but just couldn't stop there. I added some flower soft to give it a little extra dimension. The fairy was stamped using Tuxedo Black ink from Memento and colored using more Copic markers. Once I cut out the fairy I added foam squares to pop the image up. Then I added stickles to the wings and dress. I stamped my sentiment on a scrap of gingham paper and tucked it under the frame. The large flower in the corner was made from cordinating paper and the two smaller were purchased from Michael's. A few Martha Stewart punched leaves finish off my card. Well I hope you enjoy your weekend and stop by to pick up the free digital image. For a chance to win more images from The House Across The Bay play along with this week's "umbrella" challenge. I'd love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by.
