Good FRIDAY morning!  I love Fridays...but, who doesn't?  Today I would like to share with you my take on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I love the way that lace helps to make a card look feminine and sweet; so I used some lace I had purchased from a going-out-of-business sale.  If only I could have bought it all :-(  No worries, though.  Luckily for me, I have a mother who likes to sew and had lots of bits and pieces of lace, patches and buttons!  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and thank you for stopping by to take a peek.

Mojo Monday 155 Sketch Challenge

So our long weekend is over, and it's back to the daily grind.  One positive to the work week is that this Mojo Monday challenge is a contest week!  Julee Tilman's sketches are always so creative and this week is no exception. Here's my take on the sketch. Hope everyone is having a good week...

The Play date Challenge # 45

So over at "The Play Date Cafe," the challenge was to use the colors (above) to create...well...anything really. I chose to create a card.  Maybe next time I'll be more daring and create a 3D item.  For now, though, I wanted to try making some ric-rac flowers.  I had a few pieces of ric-rac in one of the challenge colors and set off to make the cutest flower the world has ever seen!  Well I didn't quite reach my goal, but I'm happy with these little beauties.  What great colors to remind me that Summer is coming to an end and that Autumn is just around the corner.  Hope everyone has a great (hopefully shorter) work week...

CPS Sketch 182

Have a little time to post while the kiddos take their nap.  For this sketch challenge I used some paper from K & Company called Life's Journey.  The base of the card is a new card stock called Crumb Cake from Stampin Up.  I love stitching on cards, and when I started putting this cutie together it was just screaming, "stitch me up!"  The lace trim was a little something I had stashed away, and the chip board frame is by Tattered Angels.  I thought this card was going in a vintage direction so what better way to distress it than by using Tim Holtz distressing ink.  Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend.

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 154

Round or Square?  Well I'm the square-peg-in-a-round-hole type of gal, but for this challenge I'll try to fit in.  I went with the square sketch.  While looking around my favorite craft store, I found this photo mat pack from Colorbox called Nectar.  My friend told me that she didn't like the color combinations in the pack; and being me, I just had to purchase it and figure out how to make it work.  I picked up some coordinating felt squares and made my own felt flowers and added a pearl to the center.  On the way out I picked up a glittered leaf pick and used a couple of leaves on my card as well.  I have to say this card was fun for me to make because the colors are not what I'm usually drawn to.  I liked the way it turned out.  I have the perfect person to give it to.

The stamped image is called Little Somethin' from Stampin Up,  The two step bird punch is also from Stampin Up.  Paper is called Nectar from Colorbox.  Flowers were made using felt purchased from my local craft store.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 83

So it's FRIDAY!  The in-laws have left town and the long weekend is just beginning.  I wanted to participate in the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. I am always inspired by the amazing group of crafters who share their take on the sketch each week.  What a talented group of stampers!  So I tried to play with some fabric I had left over from an old project; I have to say that the fabric flower turned out alright.  Have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend all!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 126

So it's September; and before you know it, I'll be sending out some Halloween cards of the kiddos in their costumes.  So why not start now?!  I've been so excited to see the sneek peaks of Taylor's upcoming release, and I am looking forward to seeing all the goodies in store this Friday!  So here is the sketch and my take on it.

For this card I used an image from an old favorite of mine.  It's Web Wishes from Stampin Up.  The paper is from Bo Bunny and the sentiment is from Crafty Secrets.
