The Kraft Journal Color Challenge

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  We have a red white and blue challenge over at the Kraft Journal to get your crafty week start off in the right direction.  For my card I went with an Americana look to my project.

Starting with a Lunch bag Kraft cardstock I matted some red gingham patterned paper from my scrap pile.  To keep my scrap pile low I make it a point to try to make a card entirely from scraps and embellishment I have on hand.  Next I used some die cuts I have had for over a year!  I matted a K&Co die onto some Buff Ivory decorative edge circle which I distressed using old paper distress ink from Ranger.  Using some more of the K&Co dies I added some glittered stars and a banner.  The flair piece is from Jenni Bowlin.  Next I added a memo pin with a small banner.  I hope you have a chance to play along this week over at the Kraft Journal.  Be sure to stop the Kraft Journal blog to see what our fabulous design team has created to further inspire you!  Thank you of stopping by and have a great week!

The Kraft Journal Color Challenge

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone has had a great weekend!  This week the Kraft Journal has a color challenge for you!

What a great collections of colors!  I was so inspired by the wedding scene I decided to make a card perfect for celebrating any happy couple!

I started out with a Kraft cardstock base.  Next I matted some patterned paper from K&Co.  I distressed the edges using some white paint.  Next I stamped my sentiment using a stamp from Verve onto some Buff Ivory Cardstock.  Using a die from My Favorite Things I cut a Decorative Doily.  Next I tucked a calendar sticker from the Lost and Found Salvage sticker pack.  To bring out the coral color I added a Prima flower.  The leaves were hand cut from some burlap I had on hand and a seam binding bow I tied using Oatmeal Cream.  To finish my card I added another sticker from the Lost and Found Salvage sticker pack, which I distressed using more of the white paint.  I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week.

Mini Clothes pins

Hello everyone I wanted to share some projects I've made for the Kraft Journal Watch Us Wednesday.  I will be featuring these adorable mini clothespins.  The Kraft Outlet offers them in a multi colored pack, Unfinished wood, and in a Black mini clothespin.   I had so much fun using these darling little embellishments!  For my first project I created this card using the clothespins to hold this sweet little banner.

This banner was hand cut and strung using some Nautral Hemp Cord.

As you can see these clothespins have been dyed to match my card.  I simply did this by soaking theunfinished wooden clothespins in some ink and water.  I left them for about an hour and dried them with a heat tool.  This created a custom color that matched my card perfectly!  In my next project I also dyed the unfinished wood mini clothespin.

For this project I used a Small Kraft Pillow Box.  I decorated it using some lace, patterned paper, and Twill Tape.  To add my sentiment I used another tiny Unfinished Wooden Mini Clothespin, which was dyed in a red ink to attach the tag.  What a cute way to add a tag!  Perfect for many different types of packaging!

For my last project I used the mini clothespin to hold this sweet picture of my little one.

For the base I used a wine cork which I decorated using Oatmeal Cream Seam binding, and lace.  I also added a flower and butterfly wooden button.  To hold the mini clothespin I took some jewelry wire and twisted it leaving a loop at the top.  I then added the mini clothespin and adhered it with a E6000.  I hope you are inspired to try out these mini clothespins in your projects! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

A Little Shabby Chic

Monday here again?  What!  I feel like I just blinked and it's already the middle of June.  No worries though we have a great challenge for you over at the Kraft Journal.  One of my favorite styles is Shabby Chic and this week that is our challenge theme.

For my card I started with a Buff Ivory cardstock as my base.  Next I layered some digital patterned paper from and Etsy store here.  Of course I couldn't help myself and added some Rose Beige seam binding from the Kraft Outlet, along with some lace from my stash.  Next I stamped my sentiment onto some more of the Buff Ivory cardstock and matted it onto some certain celery cardstock.  I tucked a Salvage Sticker behind the sentiment.  To finish my card I added a chipboard button threaded with some Natural Hemp cord, along with some green buttons.  I hope you have a chance to play along this week.  Be sure to stop by the Kraft Journal blog to see what our other fabulous design team have created to inspire you!

Just For Him

Hello everyone.  Summer vacation has started for my little ones and we are starting if off with a trip to the Dr. office!  My children share June as our birthday month with me and we are off to get their yearly check ups.  Not fun but something that has to be done.  One thing that IS fun is our challenge we have going on over at the Kraft Journal.  This week's challenge is "Just For Him".

For this card I started with a Buff Ivory cardstock as my base and distressed the edges with Tea dyed ink.  I then matted various neutral patterned papers from Bo Bunny.  I added some chip board elements to the card.  I adhered some Vintage Dictionary paper to the chip board star.  I then stamped my sentiment from Trade Fish stamps (retired) onto some more of the Buff Ivory cardstock which I cut out in a simple banner style.  I put the sentiment onto some burlap and adhered the piece to the card.  I then tied some Nautral Hemp cord around the card along with adhering some gears.  I hope you get a chance to play along this week over at the Kraft Journal.

Water Water Everywhere!

It's Monday once again and the last week of school for my little guy!  After surviving my daughter's  never ending dance recital I am so ready for a new challenge over at the Kraft Journal.  This week's challenge is "Water Water Everywhere".  Of course I live in TX, which is in a severe drought so rain is not what came to mind when I thought of this challenge.  No, when I think of water I'm thinking of beaches!

Foe my card I started with a Buff Ivory cardstock as my base.  I then matted some patterned papers I had in my stash.  The image is from an Etsy shop Iralamija, which I matted onto some Blackboard stock paper.  The tag tucked behind the image is a Vintage Black Journaling tag.  To finish my card I used some Bright Hemp Cord which matched perfectly with my card and tied a simple bow.  I hope you have a chance to play along this week.  For more inspiration be sure to check out what the design team members have created for this week's challenge.
