Rustic Challenge

Here with another challenge from the Papercraft Star.  This week's challenge is to create a project in a rustic theme.  For my card I took inspiration from the photo for this challenge and used the rich colors for my card.  The patterned papers are from Bo Bunny, and the image is from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps.  I used some burlap along with a craft paper rose from Prima.  The key was from my junk stash of odds and ends that I painted using Very Vanilla craft stamp pad from SU, and edged it with some distress inks.  I hope you'll be able to play along this week!  Just link up your project for your chance to win some digital images from our sponsor The House Across The Bay by 6:00 A.M Est.

Victorian anyone?

Wednesday and you know what that means!  Middle of the work week and another Papercraft Star challenge to get you over that hump!  This week our theme is Victorian.  Now I am so incredibility bad at different styles I usually have to google various styles to get a real feel for them.  For my project this week I went with a pillow box die decorated with a lace applique, prima flower and some seam binding.  Some Maya Road heart and leaf pins were added to the center and the adorable tag is from our sponsor The House Across the Bay die cut with a scalloped rectangle spellbinder.  Surprisingly when I googled Victorian Valentine's cards I found that many of the images from The House Across The Bay's digital sheet "Victorian Valentine Postcard 206" are spot on!  How cute would it be to print out that sheet for you Valentine's cards!  For your chance to win some images from our sponsor just link up your project by 6:00 am EST on Monday.  I'd love to see your take on Victorian, and as always you may use the photo as inspiration, but not required.   Be sure to stop by the rest of the Design team and our Guest Designer Hilda for more fabulous inspiration.

Friends and Flowers

Well I hope everyone has had a good weekend.  Here today to share this card I created using the Card Positioning System sketch and the CR84FN color challenge of Lt. Pink, Yellow and Neutral.  I started out with Very Vanilla cardstock along with some patterned paper from Echo Park and Crate Paper.  For the band in the sketch I used some vintage trim and some Prima flowers.  The stamps are from Waltzing mouse stamps and the sentiment is from Verve stamps.  The Waltzing Mouse stamp set "Holiday Labels", coordinates with Spellbinders Labels which makes it so easy to cut perfectly around the edges!  Love that more and more stamp companies are creating stamp sets that coordinate with dies!  Just for some fun I tucked a paper doily from Martha Stewart behind my sentiment and my card is done!  Well that does it for me I hope everyone had a good week and thank you for stopping by.

Midnight Serenade

The weekend is here and I'm so excited to share this card with you this morning!  Since I have two little ones I often find myself crafting at night after they have gone to bed.  I knew I wanted to participate in this week's Play Date Cafe challenge, so as I sat down to get my crafty on, this card just came together.  The rich colors of this week's color story of slate, moss, bark, and burlap worked perfectly with an image I had from The House Across The Bay "Midnight Express 205" digital sheet.  The pattern papers are from TPS. and the flowers are from Prima.  I embossed the slate paper with a sizzix folder and colored over it using a C3 Copic marker, to give it a more slate color.  This was a super fun card to create and as always so much fun playing along with the Play Date Cafe color story.  Thank you for stopping and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love Notes

Happy Wednesday blog land!  This weeks challenge over at the Papercraft Star is "Frames".  Create a project and include a frame for your chance to win digital downloads from our sponsor The House Across The Bay.  For my project I used many images from the Valentine Music of Love 205 sheet.
These images are so beautiful I had a fun time making little love notes.

For my first card I used the music sheet from our sponsor along with some Spellbinder dies to create a frame heart.  The sentiment is from a Verve stamp set.  A little stitching around the edges and some seam binding and my first mini card was created in no time.

My next card was created by using Spellbinders Labels 10.  This image is so vintage it worked perfectly with papers from My Minds Eye Lost and Found.  The frame on this one is from Stampin Up in which I added a sentiment from Verve stamps.

My last mini card was made from Spellbinders Curved Rectangles die.  For this frame is from Making Memories and accents the red lettering in the digital image.  These were super sweet cards to create and  I really enjoyed using the frames.

This little glassine bag holds these adorable cards which I embellished with random bits left over from other projects.  Can you see the frame in this one?  I used a from from the Girl's Paperie embellishment kit.

I love to see what you come up with in our "Frames" challenge.  Just link up your projects by Monday 6:00 a.m EST, for you chance to win some of these beautiful images!

Play Date Cafe 114

Quick post to enter my card in the Play Date Cafe 114 challenge.  For this card I wanted to keep it simple.    I stamped on a white card stock using a stamp set from Verve called "Sweet Treats".  Love it when stamps sets have coordinating dies!  The heart swirls were stamped in Bravo Burgundy, the frame was stamped in Rich Razzleberry, and my gold accent button combines all three colors in this challenge!  Love the Play Date Cafe.  Wishing everyone a good week.

My Heart is Yours

The weekend is here!  Tonight I told my hubby I was going to stay up and PARTY!  However my idea of partying is sitting at my crafty spot and create while listening to 90's grunge bands on my headphones so as not to disturb my sleeping babies.  I know who knew I was such a party animal.  For this card I used the Mojo Monday sketch along with a Verve stamp set called "Swirling Hearts".  I stamped the swirling hearts frame in Tattered Rose Distress ink, and cut it with the coordinating die.  The patterned papers I used was from a Lost and Found paper pack which I distress the edges.  Using my favorite colors of pinks, greens, and kraft I added a burlap heart, along with some BEAUTIFUL trim purchased from Emma's Paperie.  The flower is from Prima and the small pearls are from Want 2 Scrap.  That finishes my card and my night of parting:-).  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by.

Warmth

Yes!  It's Wednesday once again and the week is half way done.  To help you get over that hump we have a great challenge this week over at the Papercraft Star!  Our theme this week is warmth.  I love how the Design Team has different views on warmth.  For myself I went with warm colors.  I used an image from Midnight Express 201 from our sponsor The House Across the Bay.  I also used  patterned papers from Graphic 45 which worked perfectly with the image!  I wanted to keep my card more on the masculine side and without a sentiment.  I hope you have a chance to play along this week, I'd love to see your take on warmth.

Play Date Cafe challenge 113

Play Date Cafe challenge for the start of 2012 and I am determined to play along.  I do have to admit this colors this week have really threw me for a loop.  Juniper, Mint, and Vanilla are beautiful in the DT inspiration: however what color is Juniper?  Well I tried my best.  My Juniper looks like mint, and my mint looks more like light blue.  Luckily I'll get a chance to try again next week.

Papercraft Star 78

Wednesday again and challenge time over at the Papercraft Star!  This week's theme is Winter.  For my card I used "Holiday Brocade" digital image from our sponsor The House Across The Bay for my background.  When ever I think of winter the colors of blue, white, and silver come to mind.  For my embellishments I used various stars.  The sentiment is from a stamp set called "Best Wishes and More" from SU.  Here in central Texas we don't see much snow, so this just may be as close as I get to snowflakes this year!  I hope you have a chance to play along this week, I'd love to see your take on Winter!  As always you can use our photo as inspiration.  Just link up your projects up by 6:00a.m EST on Monday for your chance to win some images from our sponsor.  Thank you for stopping by.

Mojo 221

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve.  Here in Central Texas cedar pollen is high so I am having a hard time dealing with allergies.  Luckily it gives me time to sit down and card craft.  For this card I used Mojo Monday sketch 221, which is square or round.  For my card I used the square sketch.  I started with River Rock cardstock as my base along with patterned papers from Prima called Madeline.  I painted a chipboard dress form from Maya Rd with some distress stain called Picket Fence, and added coordinating papers to create a dress.  A little vintage lace along with a satin bow finishes my card.  My sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip from a stamp set called, "I like your style".  I hope you all enjoy your Sunday, thanks for stopping by.
